The MX239 mountain biking shoe is the latest version of one of our all-time favorite mountain biking shoes, for riders hitting the remote and technical trails. This evolution of our legendary MX238 is updated to include an integrated tongue to the medial panel of the upper for a firmer foot hold, ensuring that power is maximized into forward momentum through improved stability – a vital ingredient on loose and technical terrain.
The MX239 MTB shoe comes with a new fiberglass reinforced internal heel counter, creating a more stable heel hold, and has more spacing between the two BOA® dials to give greater zone adjustment to the forefoot area. It takes one of our favorite off-road adventure cycling shoes to a whole new level of comfort, fit and performance, with modern styling as standard. Add to this the Mountain Competition real rubber sole, and you have a mountain biking shoe that’s ready to take on any challenge.
MX Competition Last – Featuring a larger toe box & tighter heel than the Comfort Plus Last and with slightly more overall volume than the Sport Last. Exceptionally secure for hard riding/racing with enough room in the toe box to prevent binding when running up inclines or negotiating those tricky technical sections, while the wider toe box gives your feet a more natural fit and platform.
Our Lake MX Competition Last ensures that the MX239 mountain bike shoe is designed to maximize your performance when riding off-road adventures or racing on the rough stuff – for as long as your adventures last.
The MX239 comes fitted with our Lake Competition 100% Carbon Fiber Sole, alongside our Mountain Competition real rubber sole, and with extended protection for excellent ground stability. This added outsole protection helps to ensure stability on all types of surfaces, while giving necessary performance on the pedals. The rubber extends over the front edge of the shoe, providing you with important protection against wear and tear on loose terrain.
This latest high-performance off-road shoe is available in Clarino Microfiber or Helcor leather upper with mesh and Outlast heel lining. The Helcor Abrasion resistant leather is specifically designed to be extremely durable against rubbing, scrapes, and scuffing. The Clarino Microfiber is super tough and resilient to the arduous wear and tear of long rides on all types of terrain, maintaining its shape and stability, while being lighter than full-grain leather and more durable at thinner gauges. This allows us to give you a cycling shoe that remains stable in all riding conditions, and which will stand the test of time.
With your foot wrapped in our legendary Lake comfort, the Outlast temperature regulating heel and tongue lining offers a luxurious foot feel, while maintaining a breathable, durable & firm grip to your foot.
BOA® Fit System Li2 Dials. The Li2 dial is the most advanced platform in cycling, offering a precise, micro-adjustable fit in both directions and designed to resist abrasion. There is not one element that can take credit for shoe fit on its own. Closure and comfort come down to several details, which is why here at Lake, we take time to design shoes with what we believe to be the best comfort and closure systems. The dual BOA® fit system is not unique to cycling, but it is how we use this dial system in conjunction with our pattern work, our world-class shoe Last and our selection of superior upper materials that make this system work.
Sorry for the confusion but my review below should be for the 238 vs 237. The 237 was my favorite vs the 238 w directional heel fabric. I cannot speak for the 239.....sorry for my numbers were mixed up.
238's were my all time favorite cycling shoe. Probably have over 10 different competative models over years and these were absolutley the most comfortable and the best. Bring on the 239.... Lake added some weird single direction fabric in the heel. I am assuming it is designed for heel retention but it has done nothing for me other than pull my socks down when climbinh hike a bike sections. Im extremely frustrated with this as you always think the next consecutive model will be better than it's predesessor and it's not! I also preferred the leather over the sythetic upper as well. Getting ready to order some cx177's for my spin bike. If they come with that weird heel fabric, they will be returned. I love the fit of Lakes but that heel fabric is a deal breaker for me!
I love my MX238's and was enthusiastic to buy the 239's when the 238's finished their last tour of duty. Sadly I found the material to be much stiffer than the leather 238's and the integrated tongue cuts in and renders the 239's unwearable for me.
Please bring back the 238's for their legion of loyal users.
Comfortable shoes, slightly on the heavy side at 830gr size 43 compared to my old Spesh Sworks.
After cutting the tongues out of an old set of shoes & fitting them underneath the wrap around tongues on my 239MX size 52 Wides, I am able to use them without them chafing my ankle, great otherwise !!!
