Description

The MX21G is a sleek and modern classically styled cycling shoe that gives a low key look without sacrificing comfort or performance. Built on our Competition last and taking design cues from the MX238 Gravel, the MX21G is a great choice for those riders who appreciate the adjustable fit and secure comfort that laces have to offer.

The padded single-piece upper wraps your foot like a second skin, giving that legendary Lake comfort on the technical gravel grind. With the heel grip liner and the 100% Carbon Fiber Sole with Mountain Race X real rubber sole, you’ll power on through those rocky gravel trails.

Last

MX Competition Last – Featuring a larger toe box & tighter heel than the Comfort last and with slightly more overall volume than the Sport last. Exceptionally secure for hard riding/racing with enough room in the toe box to prevent binding when running up inclines or negotiating a hike-a-bike section. Designed for performance riding & racing.

Outsole

Our Lake Competition 100% Carbon Fiber Sole ensures maximum power transfer, with stiffness and security for every pedal stroke. We’ve added to this our Mountain Race X real rubber sole to give secure placement and grip on all types of terrain.

Upper

Clarino Microfiber comes with an internal gripper heel liner helping to maintain stability. This ultra minimal upper is padded and wraps around your foot with ultimate adjustability from the laces, maximizing comfort and a secure fit. A rubber toe bumper adds protection to the front of the shoe, while the feet benefit from a naturally formed toe box.

Closure

Durable and easily replaceable Laces that offer Unlimited and Ultimate customization for fit and comfort, alongside a classic cycling shoe style. With ultimate adjustability, the laces wrap the single piece upper like a second skin.

These are awesome

I like these shoes a lot. They did slip at first but since these felt thick and stiff I decided to be patient. The lace holes were tight also but these wore in. I got a few good sweats in them and clean/condition each ride and they are getting softer and conforming. Very nice now. I also got some G8’s today and can’t wait to try out this awesome combo. I have had the Mx competition last before with the G8 and the combo was perfect!
These shoes seem heavy but most other brand shoes are made from pleather and plastics that tend to hold oder and stink for me. Which is an issue for me. Leather might smell but typically leather does not smell or hold Oder. I got 2 pair so I’m sure to have dry fresh shoes each ride. Thanks lake!

Appears to be some of the best quality cycling shoes that I’ve seen, but the delivery is very slow for modern times. The fit feels good, but the heel slips just as others have said. I hope the hack for this that I saw on YouTube works and can stop the slip and conforms the fit. Last but not least is the weight of the shoe . The shoes are sleek and comfortable but not by any means lightweight.
