Developed for fall, spring, mild winters and damp weather, the MX146 is just the right shoe for those days when your race shoes are too cold or winter boots are too warm. Fat bike, commuting, cyclocross, you name it, the MX146 is up for it.

Please note that sizes 36-38 do not accept toe spikes

MX Sport Last – This last features a larger, more roomy toe-box than our Comfort last while providing increased foot control through the heel & saddle of the foot. The resulting fit is designed for aggressive riding while remaining comfortable to wear all day. Ideal for couriers, adventure cyclists & anyone else who wears their cycling shoes for long periods of time.

Supergrip Enduro Sole with Ice Lock anti-slip lug inserts. Not only does the MX146 feature Lake’s Legendary Fiberglass injected Nylon sole, but also one of the most technically advanced rubber soles. The Supergrip rubber sole features ICE LOCK tread inserts, which are vertically injected micro glass fibers that grip virtually all surfaces. This gives you a wet weather cycling shoe that is sure footed and stable in any condition.

The upper features softshell fabric, water resistant microfiber, Thinsulate 200gr insulation and a waterproof membrane making this a highly water resistant cycling shoe great in various conditions. Clarino microfiber offers great durability and the suppleness found in leather at a significant weight reduction.

BOA® Fit System M4 dial. The M4 dial is built for gloves and freezing temperatures, defying sand, mud, and ice. Combined with Click-Fit quick release, the system makes for easy entry and exit.

Down to 25°F/-4°C

The uppers are treated with a durable water resistant (DWR) coating that will wear away over time. We recommend reapplying a DWR spray 1-2 times a year for moderate riders and every 2-3 wet rides for daily riders.

Not Warm and Terrible Fit

Fits about 2 sizes too small, and the wide sizes fit like a normal width shoe. I normally run very warm, but these shoes couldn't keep up on a hour long 20 degree ride. At $270 for a pair of shoes I've never been this disappointed in a purchase. Will never by a Lake shoe again.

Changed my winter riding attitude

I got wides a size up. Great fit. Room for heavier socks. Rode at 25 degrees with no issues. Love the boot feel. Like xcountry ski boots but stiffer. I wish I could tighten the bottom more than the top (it’s one boa system) but minor issue. Def want to get insoles. Love these

Fit great with wool socks after adding a half size(us) keeps my feet warm while riding for 5+ hours and worked great with my time ATAC pedals while providing awesome control of my fixed gear. Definitely recommend and in my opinion totally worth the pricetag

SO far SO good

I had logged thousands of year round miles on a 2nd hand pair of similar MX 146's and hope to do the same on these new mx 146's once i break them in. Winter races culminate with a race to tree line on Mt Washington by then they should be good to go for the rest of the year. I especially like as much ankle support as i can crank out of them.

Near Perfect

MX146 (spd) with claimed EU size 46 (12-1/2). Note my normal road and gravel shoe is 44-1/2 med S-works Torch. These are my first pair of winter cycling shoe/boots and shopped/researched extensively even though they came highly recommended by a reliable buddy. I've probably put on 4,000+/- miles road and gravel. Basically my NY/NE winter footwear and I have to say a complete game changer. I did a 40+ mile gravel ride this past Saturday (25°F) and felt no temperature discomfort on the feet. I switch to spd pedals and ride these boots for road and gravel starting in December through February. I have done medium and higher-speed (zone 4/5) paceline rides, but no question they are not a lightweight summer shoe. There is an increased level of effort for sure. But I do think they are more efficient than many shoe covers. Certainly keep feet warmer. If there was any drawback I would say they don't have the sole stiffness (as expected) of a performance carbon sole shoe. I feel it in the balls of my feet when climbing out-of-the-saddle and really humping. 600 even 500 watts you feel the support fade. Keep thinking maybe better insoles. But just to be able to ride outside in comfort, they are worth it!
