Excellent lace up shoes

I've been struggling to find road shoes that fit me and heard about Lake's wide shoes. I traced my foot, determined what size they recommend, and ordered them. They fit like a glove. My heel stays put, the soles are stiff and the laces don't slip. Much preferred over my S-phyres that are a bit narrow (standard fit) and my Rapha lace ups. The Lakes will be the perfect summer shoe due to how well they breathe. They've been great indoors for zwift sessions. Would recommend if you want to try lace ups and like the super clean white shoe style.

Light weight and breathable

I bought this shoe because sometimes I ride in warm to hot weather. I don't like sweating through my leather Lakes. These shoes are made with a mesh fabric for most of the shoe. There is a heal cup which provides good hold. The shoe has laces so be ready for that. You have to lace it to the correct snugness or you get off the bike to fix it. I would say laces do a better job than the BOA system providing a uniform snug fit but you can't adjust them while riding. My first ride was on a rainy day and the shoes got trashed. It was a process to clean them. If you want them to stay white then you can only ride in good weather. If you are looking for a shoe to wear during hot weather this is a good option.
