The unique boot shape allows for us to trap warm air, which is the best insulator for any type of footwear. The MXZ304 continues to be the top winter specific cycling shoe of choice.

Sizing Suggestion: For use with winter weight socks we recommend ordering 1-1.5 sizes up from your usual Lake Cycling shoe size.

Winter Last – With a much wider & taller toebox than our traditional lasts, the Winter last allows the foot to maintain proper circulation even when thicker socks are worn. Our winter last is the standard for winter cycling footwear.

Perfect winter shoes for me

These shoes exceeded my expectations in design, comfort and warmth. I used to have to use toe warmers with my old winter shoes for any rides below 35F. I got my 304’s one size larger as recommended and they fit perfectly with two pairs of medium weight wool socks. The toe box is roomy so I can wiggle my toes even when the Boa is nice and tight. Did a night ride at 25F and toes were great for hours without warmers. I’m hoping for more cold days and frozen trails now!

Excellent winter shoes

These are a huge improvement over neoprene shoe covers and regular MTB shoes. I've been out in temps as low as 12F and they still keep my toes warm (now I need to find a better solution for my fingers!)

I normally wear a Sidi 47-mega. So I ordered up a size to 48-wide. They were still a bit snug in the forefoot with the supplied insoles. The stock insulated insoles are rather thick but have no arch support. So I replaced them with some Powerstep insoles which gave improved support and a bit more space in the forefoot area.

Overall, very satisfied. Just be sure order up a size or two since they seem to run small.

Best investment for the winter

I'm riding with the MXZ 304 boot for a year now and I wished I ordered them earlier. My feet stay dry and warm, even with temperatures below zero! A must have for the winter. I ordered one size bigger then my other lake schoes!

Disappointed

Warm boot but the sizing is off compared to other Lake shoes. They run at least a size smaller. Also, it's time to say goodbye to the Boa system for anything above the ankle. They stay tight for a few minutes and then loosen up completely. Useless system. At least there is a forefoot velcro strap to hold things together lower down. Please go back to straps and buckles!

Great Shoe! But…

I live in Idaho so winters are long. I needed a shoe which wasn’t as heavy or insulating as a 45nrth boot. This shoe fits the spot BUT size up. 1-1.5 bigger. Im a 44.5 and ordered a 45 regular and cant even fit a toe warmer. So size up and widen up for wool socks. I used it 20-25 degrees and it did well. Just had to use a normal sock so after an hour the toes started to suffer. I might try using a turkey bag but i still need so size up for max comfort. Besides running small… its a perfect shoe for 20-30 degrees. Lower than 20 will require your favorite trick for keeping you warm. Mine is wool socks and turkey bags.
