Taking our world-renowned Lake 238 cycling shoe, we’ve developed the Lake MX238 Gravel Shoe, bringing this epic design to the growing band of gravel and mixed-terrain riders. It’s a high-performance, high-quality off-road shoe, with the comfort and performance of a road shoe, balanced alongside the walkability of a mountain bike shoe. We've kept it light, reducing any unnecessary weight or bulk, so that you can simply focus on the trails ahead.

MX Competition Last The MX238 Gravel features a larger toe box and a tighter heel cup than the Comfort last and comes with slightly more overall volume than our Sport last. It’s an exceptionally secure cycling shoe, giving you that extra confidence on loose terrain, where security is key when riding hard and racing. The shoe comes with enough room in the toe box to prevent binding when running up inclines or negotiating those tricky hike-a-bike sections. The wider toe box gives your feet a more natural fit and platform.

Our MX Competition last ensures that the MX238 Gravel shoe is designed to maximize your performance when riding off-road adventures and racing on the rough stuff.

The MX238 Gravel comes with our Lake Competition 100% Carbon Fiber Sole, bonded with our Mountain Race X real rubber sole for ultimate tread and off-road security. Whatever the terrain, you can ride assured that Lake will look after you, delivering the stiffness required for high-performance riding, and the stability necessary on technical terrain. It’s the perfect balance for speed and security for your gravel bike adventures.

Clarino Microfiber or Ecco Full grain Suede Leather with mesh and Helcor abrasion resistant panels. Whichever upper you wrap your feet in, you can be assured of our legendary Lake cycling shoe comfort – all ride long.

We know how important it is to have the right closure system – especially for technical off-road terrain, where security and stability are critical. We’ve used BOA® Fit System Li2 dials for the MX238 Gravel, as the Li2 dial is the most advanced platform in cycling. It offers a precise, micro-adjustable fit in both directions and is designed to resist abrasion. You can ride in comfort and confidence on those off-road adventures, as the Li2 dual dials help to wrap your feet like a second skin.

Love the wide toe size! Whish there was an extra wide.

Amazing! Very comfortable. The sole is apparently carbon fiber and they provide a strong pedal bed. As others have noted, the heel is a little wide. But no one makes a wider cycle shoe that I have seen. The heel is fine for pedaling, a little annoying for walking. Highly recommended!

Great shoes. However, even though I carefully followed fitting directions the shoes are considerably too small. I can just get my feet in so I am hoping over time they will stretch enough to be OK.
