Evolving from the CX237, Lake has improved upon performance and durability, with its high-cadence riding favorite, the Lake CX238 Road Shoe.

Shaped for a better, more comfortable fit, the Competition last increases toe pitch and heel lift, allowing the foot to expand under high pedaling pressure. Supporting the shoe is Lake's Race carbon fiber sole, offering impressive stiffness and power transfer while remaining low in weight. To protect the shoe from premature wear, the full-grain leather upper boasts a panel at the heel and a rubber bumper at the toe, plus mesh panels for proper ventilation.

Designed for high-pressure riding, the Lake CX238's wider forefoot provides the relief you need to focus on the road ahead.

CX/TX Competition Last – With a profile specifically designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure, our Competition last features a more curved profile than the Sport last. The main differences include increased toe pitch & heel lift, a tighter heel & a slightly wider ball girth to allow the foot to expand under high pedaling pressures.

Fullgrain Water Resistant Premium Leather or Clarino Microfiber and Outlast heel lining. Helcor heel panel and rubber toe bumper helps protect the upper from scuffs and scratches. Great cycling shoes, very comfortable. Make sure you get the correct fit. I wear a 41 with this shoe which is a size 8 to 8.5 US.

Brilliant shoe!! My favorite shoes EVER!

What an incredible shoe these are!! I went with the white/red color and my immediate reaction taking them out the box is the quality of them is top notch!! The leather feels SO soft. The heel cup fabric is fantastic! I have a few other high end shoes from other mfg's and these are by far superior. And then there's the comfort, WOW. The width even for the standard width is wider than any of my other shoes. They're a dream to wear. I did have to replace the insole with what I typically use but that was expected.
A recommendation to anyone looking to buy Lake shoes...FOLLOW THEIR SIZING INSTRUCTIONS!! I'll admit I was a little nervous buying shoes online but after following their instructions on how to size it showed me as a US 12 (45.5, 288mm after adding the 5mm). That's a good 1/2 to a full size BIGGER than what I wear normally 11 or 11.5 US. But I trusted them and it was PERFECT! So do NOT buy the size you would normally wear. Follow the sizing and buy what is on the chart PER THEM. It's not rocket science.
I'll be buying the MX version of this shoe for sure. Fan for life!!

Absolutely best shoe ever

These shoes are a vast improvement over my old Shimano RP-5 entry level shoes. The adjustability of fit with the double boa tighteners is great. The cleat fore and aft is also much more adjust able. I normally wear a US size 10.5 shoe and the size 44.5 work well. I could have gone with a size 44, but the 44.5's leave a 1/2 inch of toe room in the shoe. The Camo Silver looks pretty cool. The last is definitely wider. I went with the regular size and they accommodate my wider foot. Sizing is wonky as I normally wear a Euro size 45 and when I tried that there was approximately one inch in extra length. The sizing is definitely oversized compared to other shoes.

Runs small

I wear an 8 US quite consistently, and even after using the measurements calculation method shown on the website (including adding 5mm per directions), the 40.5/8 size is significantly too small for me. Unfortunately, with “final sale”, I don’t have any options to exchange for the correct size, so buyer beware. Otherwise looks like a fairly nice shoe.
