Comfortable, but flawed

Really comfortable shoe with a wide toe box. But the soles on both shoes have started to separate in under 9 months (<3000 km of road, gravel, and MTB, but not abused). I've had other Lake shoes that lasted 5+ years with similar use, so was disappointed with the longevity of these.

Mostly excellent and pretty good all around!

There are a few things to comment on. The review is based on approximately 600km riding including a 9 hour 200km Audax ride.
I purchased a 44 wide based primarily on width. Fit width wise was exactly my foot measurements. The shoe fits OK but I need to lace them loose for greatest comfort. Length wise the shoe measures about 10mm longer than the length I measured. My big toe is the longest toe on my foot and it just touches the curve of the shoe. Not a discomfort, just something I'm not used too. If your second toe is longer this shouldn't be an issue. If I got this particular shoe again I would go to a 45. I have purchased a second set of shoes in the competition last and gone a 1/2 size up as an additional pair. Construction seems pretty solid. Delivery was spectacular. Ordered in New Zealand on a Thursday, was wearing them on the next Tuesday. They shipped from Hong Kong. In fact they arrived a day before the email from Lake notifying me they had been shipped.
