Our latest generation of cycling shoes, cover and wrap the cycling feet of an increasing number of cyclists from around the world, and we wanted to take all the knowledge and expertise that we’ve developed, and to bring you the ultimate in cycling shoe design – the new Lake 333 range. CX333 is the next generation of cycling shoe
We didn’t want to move radically away from our previous 332 models, as they had some great design and technical innovations themselves when they came out. We’re always looking ahead though here at Lake, and perfection is hard to achieve – which is why we listen to you, the consumer. We’ve maintained the lightness of the Kangaroo leather and the moldable heel counter from the previous model. However, Hutch and the team have looked in detail at how we can bring you the ultimate in power, performance and comfort – the new Lake 333.
One area of the new 333 that we wanted to look at was the security of the fit, and the feeling of stability. Since designing the 332, we’ve come a long way using Carbitex - especially in the 400 range of cycling shoes. We’ve taken these successes and merged the developing technologies into our new CX and MX 333 models. The great benefit of the new Carbitex addition to the upper of the 333 is that it gives the rider a more structured feel to the shoe. Yes, you still have that light and supple Kangaroo leather that will form and stretch and mold around your foot. Now though, you’ve also got the additional strength and security for the constantly moving foot that the Carbitex provides. It’s something that we developed on the 403 models, and having seen its success, we wanted to drip this technology down to the new 333 shoe, giving you that perfect trilogy of Performance, Power and Comfort on every ride.
By adding the Carbitex to arch area for support, we improve the control over the stretch of the upper. Then, by wrapping over the closure system on the instep, we give you the rider a more secure feel and lock the heel in place too. Wrapping the closure system over, also allows us to bring the closure down towards the toes and the toe box area, so that you can also adjust more of the shoe. These subtle changes and developments allow you to transfer more power, increasing performance, and to ride in more comfort than ever before! Ultimately, here at Lake were always looking at ways to wrap your feet in excellence, and our new CX / MX333 is truly next generation cycling shoe comfort, from the world’s most comfortable cycle shoe brand.

Additionally, you’ll also find that our new 333 shoe now has the same width fitting standards as our other ranges, coming in narrow, standard and wide fittings, and meaning that we still have the best range of cycling shoe widths in the industry. Our CX333 is now in line with our standard width 238 models, making it easier for you to compare and contrast when choosing your next pair of cycling shoes by Lake. The new 333 road and off-road shoes still have the same ultra-reliable Race ‘last’ - they just have a lot more technology going on in the upper, to give you that perfect ride – wrapped in that legendary Lake comfort.

I own a 332 wide size 40.5 and a 403 regular size 40. They are supposed to be the same last, but the 403 and 332 shapes seem very different. To me, they are the same size. The 403’s toe box is obviously open and the 332x is cramped. Do the 332 wide and 333 wide fit the same?
The toe box still looks too pointed in the middle. For those of us with average width feet, but long first/big toes, we need asymmetrical toe boxes so that our big toe isnt forced across in front of our others. This is the biiiigest issue for me and cycling shoes.
Going wide doesn’t work, as my feet then swim around in the shoe. Same with sizing up for length, that also making cleat placement an issue. I’ve found many shoes over the years, where, if they had just made the shape of the fore foot, the actual shape of a human foot, I would have been happy.
The CX201, is a great idea, but its WAY too wide for me, and sacrifices the secure forefoot hold. of 403,333 etc.
Please Lake, this is all thats missing from your range. Make the next revision of the cx333, with more space of the big toe to run straight!

We design and produce the most extensive range of cycling shoe sizes in the cycling industry. This spectrum of shoe sizes is across our whole Lake range of models and styles. At this time, our new CX333 Road Cycling Shoes uses our CX/TX Race ‘last’, which features a slightly narrower toe box and tighter heel than the Competition ‘last’. This shoe also has less overall volume than the Sport ‘last’. It’s a high-performance shoe, designed specifically for very high-cadence riding, hence the slimmer foot fit.
We completely understand that this won’t suit all cyclists; especially those with a wider foot. We do however produce the CX333 in a wide fitting option. We always recommend that cyclists get their feet properly measured by our expert shoe fitting partners. This will determine the best Lake cycling shoes for your own unique feet and how you ride.
We are constantly looking at the ‘lasts’ that we use to develop our cycling shoe ranges, both road and off-road. In terms of the natural foot shape, this is an area that we are currently developing further, as it is important to so many cyclists. Our Comfort Plus ‘last’ has a more suitable shape for riders with a wider foot, and is a better option for the natural foot shape. At this moment in time, the Comfort Plus ‘last’ is only available in the following models: CX201; MX201; and the MX169. As we develop our models in this ‘last’, we will inform cyclists via our newsletters and the blogs, which you can sign up to, ensuring that you receive the information at the earliest opportunity.

My name is Paul McCormack. I fortunate to have participated In the Olympic games and raced as a professional in the US for 20 years always had an issue with cycling shoes, especially the width currently using 238 wide That I wish I had when I was racing .The 403 are two narrow for my wide foot just seen an article on the new 333 with kangaroo uppers . In wide versions looking forward to purchasing a new pair. thank you Lake for thinking outside the box.
I’ve currently got the lake cx332’s in a regular fit will the new cx333’s have the same last … or will it have a better fit . when is the release date for the cx333
